Clock Keys - Details (ii)

Time & Attendance | Clock Keys | Details (ii) tab

Summary

Keycodes are codes entered at the clock by employees when they swipe their clock cards. Keycodes override any default settings in an employee file.

For example, you can set up a key called '02' for employees who sometimes work for the Customer Services Department. Their usual department is recorded in their employee file. If they clock in without using a key, PayGlobal uses the department in their employee file. However, when they swipe in for Customer Services work, they enter the '02' key, and this code information overrides their employee file information.

Procedure

Clocks generally use one key only.

You should only complete one field on this tab page for each key. For example, 'Department'. This action sets up a key for the selected department.

Troubleshooting

If your Keycodes are not working, check:

  • The same field is specified in the Key code 1 field of Clocks - Keycode Mappings.
  • The Keycode1= line is completed in the Clocks.ini file. The Clocks.ini file is located in the clock folder in the application folder, but should only be edited by your PayGlobal Consultant.
