Summary

The Spreadsheet view access level field determines which SpreadSheet-related actions are available to the user in SpreadSheet View, Daily View and Transaction View.

Access levels

You can use the following access levels in the Spreadsheet view access level field:

  • Edit

    Users can add or edit information in SpreadSheets. You should grant this level of access only to users who have to enter information, such as line managers.

  • View

    Users can only view information in SpreadSheets, they cannot add or edit it.

  • None

    Users cannot view or access SpreadSheets.

View access

When Spreadsheet view access level = "View", the user can perform the following SpreadSheet-related actions:

  • Copy
  • Paste
  • Export
  • Find
  • Find Next
  • Load Spreadsheet Data
  • Show Cell Auditing
  • Show Cell Notes
  • Show Cell Status
  • Show Spreadsheet View.

If the user does not have edit access, then the data displayed in a loaded spreadsheet is read-only and will not be saved.

The SpreadSheets tab is available in Layout Options for Daily View and Transaction View.

Edit access

When Spreadsheet view access level = "Edit", the user can perform the following spreadsheet related actions, in addition to the View access actions above.

  • Save spreadsheet data
  • Cut
  • Paste
  • Can edit data in a loaded spreadsheet.
