Daily View - Customise Forms

Daily View

Summary

You use Daily View forms to edit data. You can control the fields displayed on the form and resize it as you require.

Customise a form

This example adds a Department field to the Inserting a Shift form and resets the tab order.

  1. Double-click a cell in Employee View Summary.

The Inserting a Shift form appears.

  2. Right-click the Details tab page to see the menu.
  3. Click Customise fields to see the Customise box, which lists the fields that you can use on this form.

You can add or remove fields from the tab page by selecting or deselecting the check boxes in the Customise box. You will add a field for Department.

  4. In the Customise box, click the Department check box.

The Department field appears on the form and now you can position it.

  5. Drag-and-drop the Department field to the required position.

After you position the field on the tab page, you can align it.

  6. While holding down the Ctrl key, select the fields in the Customise box that you want to align, such as Shift, Reason, Duration, and Department.

Now the Align and Link commands are active.

  7. In the Customise box, click Align.

PayGlobal left-aligns the boxes for these fields.

Now you will move Department up the tab order in the Customise box so it is between Shift and Reason.

  8. In the Customise box, click Department to select it.
  9. In the Customise box | Groups (tab order) header, click the up arrow until Department is between Shift and Reason.

You can now tab through the fields in the correct order.

Click Close in the Customise box.

Resize a form

You can easily change the shape of a form, but its fields will remain in their original position.

  1. Place your cursor on an edge or a corner of the form.

Your cursor changes into a double-headed arrow.

  2. Hold down your left mouse button and drag the form to change its shape and size.

Add a Text field

If you add a Text field to a form, then you can use Customise Columns to display the text in Drill Down.

Save your layout

When you finish customising your layout, you must use File | Save Layout As to save your settings. Your most recently saved layout becomes the default layout, and you will see it whenever you access this window. If you do not Save Layout As, then your changes will be lost when you exit or apply another layout.
