Daily View | Tools | Customise | Layout Options | Details tab

Summary

The Details tab allows you to control the type of data displayed in Daily View.

Fields
Show null drilldown rows:
  • Yes - Daily View displays empty days in Drill Down.
  • No - Daily View does not display empty days in Drill Down. If you were printing from Daily View, then you could use this option remove blank lines from the report.
Show transaction summary:
  • Yes - Daily View displays transaction summary information in the Drill Down header.
  • No - Daily View does not display transaction summary information in the Drill Down header.
  • Payroll Allowances Only - Daily View displays transaction summary information for payroll allowances only.
  • Type Breakdown Only - Daily View displays summary information by transaction type only.
Show clock summary:

Yes/No field that determines whether the Drill Down header displays clock transaction summary information.

Navigation arrows control:

The option that you select determines whether clicking the navigation buttons moves Daily View data in Days/Weeks or Weeks/Terms.

Synchronise dates with periods:

Yes/No field that determines whether Daily View synchronises the start of the displayed week with the pay period calendar.

NOW-time adjustment(mins):

This field is displayed only if NOW-button = 'Yes' in Company Settings - Rostering - General.

If NOW-button = 'Yes' in Company Settings, then PayGlobal displays a NOW button on Roster timeband forms. If you click in the Start time or End time fields and then click NOW, PayGlobal enters the current server time. However, if your current server time does not reflect the 'real' time, you can enter an appropriate minute adjustment value in the NOW–time adjustment (mins) field. For example, if your server time is 12:00 and NOW–time adjustment (mins) = 60, then PayGlobal will enter 13:00 when you click the NOW button.

Cache level:

This field determines how rapidly PayGlobal can process large volumes of data in a single data set, such as a date range.

  • If your Daily View layout contains 30 employees or less, then set Cache level to 'High'.
  • If your Daily View layout contains more than 30 employees, then set Cache level to 'Low'.
Background calculations:
  • No - Recommended default setting.
  • Yes - Approximately every 5 seconds PayGlobal checks whether you have performed certain actions, such as:
    • Customise columns.
    • Change column widths.
    • Refresh data (F5).
    • Jump to an entity.

If you have performed one of these actions, then PayGlobal refreshes the cells.

Note: This setting does not affect ASP clients.

Direct edit:

Yes/No field that determines whether you can directly edit a cell in Employee View or Drill Down.

  • No - You have to double-click the cell to open the timeband or transaction form at that field, and then enter the value.
  • Yes - You can start entering values directly into a cell, and the timeband or transaction form automatically opens at that field.
Display messages:

Determines whether PayGlobal displays the Messages area on the left or the bottom of the Daily View window.

Auto save:

Yes/No field that determines whether PayGlobal automatically saves your changes in the following situations:

  • When you exit Daily View without saving your changes.

If Auto save = Yes, then PayGlobal automatically saves your changes and an exit Confirm message appears.

If Auto save = No, then a Warning message appears with the following buttons:

    • Yes - Save the changes.
    • Cancel - Do not save the changes.

After you click either button, an exit Confirm message appears.

  • After the Save prompt after (mins) interval.

If Auto save = Yes, then after the set interval, PayGlobal automatically saves your changes.

If Auto save = No, then after the set interval, a save Confirm message appears with the following buttons:

    • Yes - Save the changes.
    • Cancel - Do not save the changes.
Auto refresh after save:

Yes/No field that determines whether PayGlobal automatically refreshes the Daily View window after you save changes.

Save prompt after (mins):

At set intervals, PayGlobal can prompt you to manually save your changes or it can automatically save your changes. Enter a minutes value (minimum 10 minutes) to set the interval length. The Auto save field determines whether the save is manual or automatic.

Save your layout

When you finish customising your layout, you must use File | Save Layout As to save your settings. Your most recently saved layout becomes the default layout, and you will see it whenever you access this window. If you do not Save Layout As, then your changes will be lost when you exit or apply another layout.
