Diary View - Set up Quick Results

Summary

When you set a date range in Diary View, records for the selected dates are displayed in the Drill Down area but they are not displayed in the calendar. You must set up these dates as colour-coded quick results before you can view them.

Set up Quick Results

This example sets up Quick Results to highlight meetings in yellow.

  1. In the Drill Down area, click a cell under the Date header to select it and press Alt+F10.
  2. In the Customise Column Extensions form, click the Results | Details sub-tab.
  3. In the Customise colours if results combo box, click Yes.
  4. Right-click the yellow square to set the background colour.

    Diary View will highlight results yellow.

  5. Click the Quick Results sub-tab.

    Now you will determine the dates that will be highlighted in the calendar, such as scheduled staff meetings.

  6. Click the No Restrictions clause and press Enter.
  7. In the Fields list, double-click Diary View.Diary code.
  8. In the Operators list, double-click is equal to.
  9. In the Select Diaries list, double-click the appropriate diary, such as Meetings and click OK.

You can set up a Quick Results clause for more than one type of diary occurrence, such as meetings and birthdays. In this example the clause would be:
Diary View.Diary code is equal to “MEETINGS”

Diary View.Diary code is equal to “ANNIVERSARY”.

Save Calendar Layout

After you customise Daily View, you can save your layout. You can set up several calendar layouts and use them as required. For example, one calendar layout could highlight holidays in New Zealand and Australia in different colours, and another calendar layout could highlight your meetings.
