Summary

Diary View can schedule future events from information held by the PayGlobal database, and then display that information in the Diary View calendar. It is particularly useful for PayGlobal Human Resources and Payroll users.

If you are familiar with PayGlobal Daily View or Transaction View, then you will find many similar customisation options in Diary View.

Access Diary View

To access Diary View, double-click Diaries | Diary View in the PayGlobal Tree.

Diaries

Diary View uses diary layouts to create a series of diaries that you can use for different situations. For example, you could have separate diaries for:

  • Dates for employee anniversaries.
  • Meetings.
  • Deadlines for taxation requirements.
  • Reporting due dates.

Alternatively, you could use a master layout to display all the above due dates in the calendar, and colour code them by function.

Terminology

Diary: Diary rules are attached to a diary, and then applied to a calendar.

Diary rule: A set of instructions that perform actions, and associates those actions with a given date.

Action clause: A clause that is part of a diary rule. The action clause usually creates a diary transaction for a given date.

Diary transaction record: Description of some event that should happen on a specified date. It may be added manually or created by the diary maintenance process.

Process Diary Data: A process that evaluates all rules in a diary, and then creates diary transactions.
