Award Rules - Employee Clauses

Organisation | Entitlements | Award Rules | Employee Clauses tab

Summary

The first stage of the filtering process of an award rule is to state which employees the rule will apply to, and which will be cast out.

Important: Award rules should only be created by your PayGlobal Consultant. Changing award rules incorrectly will have a severe impact on your system.

Example

For example, the award rule 'All employees' means that all employees in an organisation will progress the Stage 2 - Timeband clauses of an award rule.

On the other hand, the award rule 'Annual leave table code is equal to "FULL6%" means that only employees on the 'FULL6%' annual leave table will pass through to the Timeband clauses stage.

Today Operators

When you create a clause for a date field, you can use the following operators that are based on today:

  • Is equal to today by
  • Is less than or equal today by
  • Is greater than or equal today by

For example, if today is 01/08/2011 you can create the following types of employee clauses:

  • To select employees whose planned termination date is 31 days from today (01/09/2011):

"Planned termination date is equal to today by 31".

  • To select employees whose planned termination date is on or after 01/09/2011:

"Planned termination date is greater than or equal today by 31".

  • To select employees who were terminated on or before 01/07/2011:

"Termination date is less than or equal today by -31".

You need to use two clauses to define a range:

  • To select employees whose planned termination date is in the range from today to 31 days in the future:

"Planned termination date is greater than or equal today by 0" and "Planned termination date is less than or equal today by 31"

  • To select employees who were terminated in the range from yesterday to 31 days in the past:

"Termination date is less than or equal today by -1" and "Termination date is greater than or equal today by -31"
