Anchor Groups - Misc - Duplicates

Time & Attendance | Anchor Groups | Misc tab

Summary

Duplicates occur when an employee swipes more than once for a single clock event. This can happen accidentally, or because the employee is unsure whether the swipes are registering properly.

Fields
Treat as dupl within:

Sometimes an employee may swipe their clock card more than once in a short period of time. For example, they may not be sure that their card has swiped properly and so they re-swipe the card. This field sets the interval between subsequent swipes and records it as a duplicate rather than as a separate swipe. The default value is two minutes.

Any number of clock swipes within a two minute interval are registered as duplicates and only one of the clock swipes is used.

If an employee swipes at 07:23, 07:24, 07:26 and 07:29, the first three swipes are duplicates because the interval between each swipe is two minutes or less. However, the fourth swipe is not a duplicate because it is separated from the previous swipe by more than two minutes.

Use the dupl card swipe:

PayGlobal needs to know whether to use the first or last duplicate clock swipe as the true clock swipe time.

  • Yes

The last duplicate clock swipe is used.

  • No

The first duplicate clock swipe is used.
