Summary |
This tab page allows you to create overrides for an employee's default rate of pay. You can do this by defining a rate in the Rate Overrides area. |
Fields |
Rate:Rate that you will use as an override. You cannot use calculated rates. Rate amount:Amount that an employee will be paid, usually per hour, but sometimes per day. Whether the rate is hourly or daily depends on the type of Rate you entered. Effective start date:Optional. Indicates the date this Employee Rates record applies from. Effective end date:Optional. Indicates the date this Employee Rates record applies to. Reason:Optional. You can select a pay change Reason. Comment:Optional. You can explain the rate change. Inactive:PayGlobal will automatically use the most recent Employee Rates record, but you should set this field to "Yes" in old, unused records.
|
Validation |
PayGlobal validates the entry and editing of effective start and end dates and looks for any overlaps of the same rate code. An error will occur if there are overlaps and the user must either enter a valid date range for the new record or change the existing active record prior to inserting the new one. If inserting a new record, the system will also automatically end date the old record that contains the same rate code. Inactive rates are ignored for validation purposes. |
