Employees - Rostering - Tours

Employees | T&A/Rostering | Rostering | Tours tab

Summary

Tours are a method of creating a recurring cycle of rostered shifts for an employee, where the duration of the cycle can be any number of days.

When you attach a Tour to an employee, you can specify the following information for this tour in relation to the employee’s other tours:

  • Rank.
  • Effective start date and effective end date.
  • Start day - the day number that the tour will start for this employee.
  • Requirement tour.

Shifts and Tours

Shifts: Shifts contain a time range. For example, 'Day shift 0800 - 1700'. Shifts are attached to a tour. A shift is specified for each working day in a tour cycle.

Shifts and shift overrides are set up and edited in the Daily View.

Tours: A tour is a roster pattern for a defined cycle length or duration.

Tours are managed in the employee record.

Editing Rosters

In PayGlobal, you view the Virtual Roster in Daily View, but edit rostering details at the employee level. Editing an employee's Roster in Daily View overrides a specific timeband for the selected day only.

Procedure

To add a Tour record, switch to Edit mode and press Insert.

The Employee Tours - Details tab appears.

An employee can start on any shift, any day, within a particular Tour.
