Create Leave Request Settings

Payroll | Leave Setup | Create Leave Request Settings

Summary

This tool is used with Self-Service and is visible when:

  • Self-Service 3.4 or greater is installed
  • You are licensed for Self-Service and the module is enabled
  • Your security profile gives you edit permissions to this tool
  • Your user profile gives you supervisor rights.

You can use the Create Leave Request Settings command to attach Employee Leave Request Settings records to a group of employees.

The Setup Information tab displays information about the procedure.

Complete the Details tab to run the procedure.

Fields
Leave request settings:

Select a Leave Request Settings record.

Leave approval settings:

Select a Leave Approval Settings record. In the Leave request settings record, if Leave unit source = "None", then the Leave approval settings field is disabled.

Start date:

Type the required start date of the record or select from the calendar.

  • If an employee has a current Employee Leave Request Settings record, then PayGlobal automatically adds an End date value (to the existing record) that is one day before the start date of the new record.
  • If an employee has a current Employee Leave Request Settings record with a start date after the Start date entered here, then a new record will not be created for that employee.

    Note: The options that you select in the fields above will be applied to all employees selected in the employee query below.

Employee query:

Use a query to select a specific group of employees. Leave this field blank to run the process for all employees.

If you have an employee security query attached to your PayGlobal security profile, then PayGlobal will respect that employee query and the employee query that you select here.

Note: If the settings above are the same as an employee's current Employee Leave Request Settings record, then a new record will not be created for the employee.

Preview Only button

When you click the Preview Only button, a confirm message appears: "Run preview only?". Click Yes to run the preview.

An audit log appears that displays the updates that will occur when you click the Run Update button. This option is a preview only and data is not updated.

The PREVIEW Audit Log displays the following information:

  • PREVIEW (audit log is a preview only).
  • The settings that you entered on the Create Leave Request Settings - Details tab.
  • The changes that will be made for each employee.
  • An exclamation mark (!) beside employees who will not be updated.
  • "Create leave request settings preview SUCCESSFUL" message at the bottom of the page.

Run Update button

Important: Click Run Update only when you are confident about the changes that PayGlobal will make. Run Update updates the employee records, so if the process makes changes that you do not want, then you must manually undo your changes or restore to a backup.

When you click the Run Update button, a confirm message appears: "Run the create Leave Request Settings update tool?". Click Yes to run the update.

PayGlobal updates the employee records defined by the Employee query.

The UPDATE Audit Log appears and displays the following information:

  • UPDATE (PayGlobal has updated employee records).
  • The settings that you entered on the Create Leave Request Settings - Details tab.
  • The changes that PayGlobal made for each employee.
  • An exclamation mark (!) beside employees who were not updated.
  • "Create leave request settings update SUCCESSFUL" message at the bottom of the page.
