Employees | Payroll | Leave | Leave Request Settings tab | Employee Leave Request Settings | Details tab

Summary

Employee Self-Service Leave Request Settings records define how an employee can request leave in Self-Service. If an employee does not have an Employee Self-Service Leave Request Settings record, then they cannot use Self-Service to request leave.

Fields
Leave request settings:

Defines how Self-Service sources the employee's leave when they make a leave request.

In the Leave request settings pick list, select a Leave Request Settings record.

Leave approval settings:

When a leave request is split, Self-Service uses the Leave approval settings to specify which module each portion of the leave request is assigned to.

In the Leave approval settings pick list, select a Leave Approval Settings record.

In the Leave request settings record, if Leave unit source = "None", then the Leave approval settings field is disabled.

Start date:

Date from which this record is active.

End date:

Date from which this record is inactive.

You cannot enter an End date. When you add a new record, PayGlobal automatically adds an End date value that is one day before the start date of the new record.

Multiple records

You can add multiple Employee Leave Request Settings records for an employee.

PayGlobal sorts the Leave Request Settings records by Start date.

When you add a new record:

  • The new record's Start date must be later than the Start date of the current record or the following message will appear: "You must enter a date that is after the start date of the last record".
  • The settings must not be the same as the previous record or the following message will appear: "You cannot add these values because the combination of 'Leave request settings' and 'Leave approval settings' already exists. Please choose another combination".
  • If the employee has outstanding leave requests, then the following message will appear: "This employee has outstanding leave requests. Adding this record may adversely affect these requests. Are you sure you want to continue?".

If the employee's Leave unit source changes (for example, from profiled to rostered), then the number of hours or days that the employee works may change. You must check that the employee will be paid for the correct number of units.

Deleting records
  • You can only delete the last record added. If you attempt to delete an earlier record, then the following message will appear: "This record cannot be deleted. You can only delete the last record".
  • If you attempt to delete a record, and the employee has outstanding leave requests, then the following message will appear: "This employee has outstanding leave requests. Deleting this record may adversely affect these requests. Are you sure you want to continue?".

If the employees Leave unit source changes (for example, from profiled to rostered), then the number of hours or days that the employee is entitled to may change. You must check that the employee will be paid for the correct number of units.
