Leave Request View

Summary

Use Leave Request View to view and process employees leave requests.

Click the Leave Request View button on the Drill Down toolbar to open Leave Request View.

Leave request

Editing leave requests

Double-click the leave request that you want to edit. The Editing a Leave Request Record window appears. See Employee Leave Requests - Details for more information about how to fill in the fields on this form.

Processing leave request

You must tag the leave requests that you want to process and then press F8.

When you process a leave request, the tick in the Tag checkbox is removed and the Processed date is completed. The employees leave transactions are copied into the pay sequence, so you can process them as normal transactions.

For more information, see Processing leave requests.

Employee Leave Requests queries

If you have a large number of leave requests in PayGlobal, then it can take a long time to load them in Transaction View, especially if you select "Load All Employees". Employee Leave Requests queries allow you to:

  • Activate a query in Employee Leave Requests that will be respected in Transaction View | Leave Request View, and in the Drill Down area when you select the "Load All Employees" option.
  • Select an Employee Leave Requests query in an employee's Security Profiles | Default Query field (see Security Profiles - Menu) that will be treated as the active query for Employee Leave Requests.

Note: If you create a grid report for Employee Leave Requests in Transaction View, then the resultant report does not indicate any queries that were applied to the data.

'Disappearing' Employee Leave Requests

If you add a leave request or edit an existing record, and the new/edited record is outside the range of the active Employee Leave Requests query, then that record is no longer displayed. When you save the record, the following type of warning appears:

"Leave request for employee 1000 Brown Bryan with a start date of 31/01/2009 is no longer visible due to the current filter on the Employee Leave Request table."

After you click "OK", the new/edited record will 'disappear'.

Self-Service

If you use Self-Service, then the following topics explain when you can process leave requests.

Leave Request Modules (Self-Service)

Splitting Leave Requests (Self-Service)

Impact of Pay Closing Procedures

During the Close Pay process, PayGlobal checks all unprocessed leave requests.

Where a Leave Request End Date is less than or equal to the Period End Date and the module = F or T, PayGlobal populates the leave request Processed Date with the Period End Date of the pay being closed.
