Summary

Row limiting reduces the impact on your network by requesting only the records that you require. This option is set up in the user's security profile.

Security Profiles now contain the option Limit rows on initial display. This minimises the amount of information that PayGlobal loads in specified Grids.

Procedure

The following example refers to the Employee Grid, but this option can be enabled for all the Grids in PayGlobal.

To enable row limiting for the Employee Grid:

1. Navigate to Administration | Security | Security Profiles to reach the Security Profiles entity.
2. Double-click the required Security Profile Code.
3. Click Edit.
4. Select 'Employees' to access the security for the Employee Grid.
5. Click to tag the check box beside Limit rows on initial display.
6. Click Save+Close.
7. Row limiting is now enabled for users attached to this security profile the next time that they log on.

Using row limiting

This procedure applies only to users who are logged onto PayGlobal with a security profile with Limit rows on initial display enabled.

1. Click Employees to open the Employee Grid.

   A new field is displayed called Locate Last Name matching: This field filters the employees that PayGlobal loads in the Employee Grid.

2. Enter the required name and press Enter.
3. If you only enter 'B' and press Enter, PayGlobal loads all the employees with surnames starting with B.

Limit rows by code

You can also limit rows by code.

1. Press Ctrl+1 to change to Locate Employee Code matching:
2. Enter an employee code, (or the beginning of a code) and press Enter to view one employee or all the employees with a code which begins with the numbers you have entered.
3. To change back to 'Locate Last Name matching', press Ctrl+2.

Sorting is also available from the right-click menu.

To load all employees, clear the 'matching' field and while the cursor is still in this field, press Enter.
