Summary

A work area is a place of work. The Details tab fields define where people do tasks associated with the business activities of the organisation. You can use the following PayGlobal entities to create a Work Areas record:

• Two standard mandatory entities - Location (geographical) and Department (operational).
• Four definable optional entities - Dims 1-4.

Reports use the Legend as a short description instead of using the full code.

Location:

Location is a standard structure entity in PayGlobal so it is a mandatory part of a Work Areas record. Location relates to the physical placement of employees in the organisation, such as a city.

Department:

Department is a standard structure entity in PayGlobal so it is a mandatory part of a Work Areas record. Department relates to the business activities of employees in the organisation.

If Dims are defined in Company Settings, then they are displayed on the Details tab. Dims can be geographical ("District") or operational ("Section").
