Company Settings - Dims

Administration | Modify Company Settings command | General | Settings | Dims tab

Summary

PayGlobal's functionality is increased by the use of Dims (dimensions).

Dims are additional entities that you can create for the Organisation | Divisions folder in the PayGlobal Tree. PayGlobal accepts up to four extra entities (Dim labels).

Procedure

Enter the new entity name in the Dim label field while you are in Edit mode. After assigning a Dim label, PayGlobal must be restarted for the new settings to take place. Examples include Region and District. PayGlobal makes the Dim labels plural, giving you Regions and Districts in the PayGlobal Tree.

PayGlobal will update the Organisation | Divisions folder in the PayGlobal Tree to include the new entities that you have assigned.

Reports

Any Dims that you create are made available in standard PayGlobal reports as an extra reporting dimension. An example, you could create a "PayPoint" Dim and set up the payslip report by this field, rather than by Location or Department.

Work Areas

You can also use Dims in the Work Area structure because the client may have more than two reporting levels (Location/Department) in their organisational structure.
