Holiday Groups

Summary

Holiday Groups allow you to organise Holidays records into sets that you can apply to employees in specific legislative regions, such as states or provinces. You can attach the appropriate Holiday Groups record to an employee to identify when a holiday occurs. The holiday is highlighted in Daily View, and award rules can use this information to generate correct payments to employees.

You use Holiday Groups to define a set of Holidays for a region, but some holidays will be in multiple Holiday Groups. For example, Christchurch Show Day would be in the Christchurch Holiday Group only, but Christmas Day would be in every Holiday Group.

Procedure

To use Holiday Groups:

  1. Create the required Holidays records.
  2. Create the required Holiday Groups records and select the appropriate Holidays records in each Holiday Group.
  3. On employee Payroll | Contract tabs, select the appropriate Holiday Group.

Reason

You also have the option of adding a Reason on the Holiday Groups - Details tab. When you use the Generate Non-Clocked Data command, it will insert the Reason into Timebands for employees who have not clocked on or off in that day. Processing can then use the Reason to calculate different penalty rates for these employees.
