Summary

The Lock System command allows you to gain exclusive access to PayGlobal to perform maintenance procedures.

Types

When you run the Lock System command, you can apply the following types of locks:

• Session

  Locks other users out of PayGlobal until you exit the application, and prevents you from running reports.

• Permanent

  Locks other users out of PayGlobal, even after you exit PayGlobal, and prevents you from running reports. With a permanent lock active you must run the Unlock System command before you exit PayGlobal or you will lock yourself out of PayGlobal.

  NOTE: Eject Locks are not created in the Lock System menu. Eject Locks are controlled via the right click menu in the Tables/User Status process.

Other Users

You must notify other users before you run the Lock System command. The Administration | Tables/Users Status | Users tab displays all users currently logged on to PayGlobal.
