Summary

Before you can use the Time and Attendance module, you need to open an Actuals period. The Open Actuals command functions in different ways depending on the way that actuals are set up.

Problems opening Actuals?

The PayGlobal T&A/Rostering and Daily View components cannot be accessed unless a System Break Reason is entered in Company Settings.

Before you start

Set Actuals pay properties.

Before you open an Actuals Pay, you must set its properties in the Details tab page of the applicable Period. The Actuals field determines how PayGlobal generates non-clocked employee's actuals:

• Auto

  Automatically generates non-clocked employee's actuals from their roster, when opening an Actuals period.

• Manual

  Enables you to use the Generate Non- Clocked Data command to generate actuals for non- clocked employees.

What happens during the Open Actuals process?

There are two areas that influence what will happen when the Open Actuals command is used:

• Uses Clocks field in the employee file - When you open an Actuals period, information is written from each employee's Time and Attendance files. The way that an actual is processed depends on whether an employee uses a clock or not. This information is recorded in the employee file - Employees | T&A/Rostering | Actuals | Details | Uses clocks field.
• Pay period calendar settings - The Actuals field in the period determines how rosters are treated during the opening of an Actual period - Organisation | General Periods | Periods | Details | Actuals field.
