Transaction View | Insert | Sequence Header
Summary |
The Sequence Header displays accumulators for the pay sequence displayed in Transaction View. You can check whether the accumulators are correct and edit them if necessary. |
Fields |
Details tabEach accumulator has From and To values that indicate the date range for the accumulator. PTD:Period-to-dates define the payment period, such as a week or a month. Tax PTD:Tax Period-to-dates define the taxation reporting period. MTD:Month-to-dates define the monthly reporting period. YTD:Year-to-dates define the yearly reporting period. Financial YTD:Financial Year-to-dates define the company’s yearly cost centre report period. Super PTD:Superannuation Period-to-dates define the company’s superannuation report period. FB YTD:(Australia only) Fringe Benefit Year-to-dates define the company’s yearly fringe benefit report period. Description:The description used for this pay sequence in areas such as the Pay Sequences and Pay Status forms. Period NumberWhen you create a period, PayGlobal generates a sequential period number that identifies every record for that period. For example, the weekly period has 52 records (1 – 52) and Monthly has 12 records (1 – 12). GL Period:General Ledger reporting period for this PTD. Payment date:When you open a pay for a Period Calendar record, PayGlobal copies the Payment date to the pay sequence and it is included on the Sequence Header form. You can edit the Payment date only if the pay sequence is open. In Australian and UK databases, Payment date is a mandatory field and the Payment date value must be in the YTD range for the pay sequence. If you change the YTD code, then a Confirm message appears, and if you opt to continue, PayGlobal automatically changes the pay sequence status to "Unprocessed" so pay processing can apply the correct taxation rules for the updated YTD code. Userdef PTDs tabThis page lists any user-defined PTDs in the database. You can add up to four user-defined PTDs to meet your reporting requirements (see Company Settings - PTDs). For example, you could add a Super Quarters PTD for superannuation reporting. |
Manual pays |
When you open a Manual pay, PayGlobal automatically assigns it accumulators for the most recently opened Standard pay of the same period type. However, this is not always correct because the Manual pay period might not be the same as the most recent Standard pay period. Assigning a Manual pay to the incorrect accumulator can have far-reaching consequences for your organisation’s financial reporting. Important: Always ensure that Manual pays are assigned to the correct accumulator, and use the Sequence Header to change the accumulators if necessary. If you run reports for a pay period and later adjust Manual pay accumulators to that period, then you must rerun those reports to include the Manual pay transactions. |
Standard pays |
Use the Sequence Header to check Standard pay accumulators. If the accumulators were set up correctly in the period calendar, then you will not need to change them. However, if the accumulators are incorrect, then you can edit them in the Sequence Header. |
