Fields |
Total hours paid:The total of all hours worked in the employee's current Sick Leave period. Total days paid:The total of all days worked in the employee's current Sick Leave period. Total weeks paid:The total of all weeks worked in the employee's current Sick Leave period. End date:The sick leave End Date copied from the Leave tab. Average hours per day:This field is calculated automatically by PayGlobal. It divides the Total hours worked by the employee in the Sick Leave period by the number of days worked in the Sick Leave period. Average hours per week:This field is calculated automatically by PayGlobal. It divides the Total hours worked by the employee in the Sick Leave period by the number of weeks worked in the Sick Leave period. |

Unit Balances |
Outstanding:The Outstanding unit balances field shows the employee's opening sick leave balance for the current sick leave period. During the course of a sick leave period, the Outstanding units remain static. When a sick leave anniversary is reached, the Outstanding value is updated to reflect the total number of units that can be carried over into the new sick leave period, i.e. its the pre-rollover amount + entitlement units due on rollover - Sick leave taken this year, capped at the Maximum entitlement units. Total accrued:For NZ, this field is typically not populated because if they accrue then the liability has to be recognised. Since Sick Leave is taken when it's needed there's no liability until such time as it's taken. The Accrue entitlement weekly field on the employee's Sick Leave table controls whether the Total accrued field displays a value or not. See also: SL taken this year:The SL taken this year field records the total number of sick leave units (days/hours) that have been taken by the employee in their current Sick Leave period. If a pay contains a sick leave transaction, on closing the pay, value from the Units reduced by is added to SL taken this year. SL Units Available:The SL Units Available field displays the total number of sick leave units an employee is entitled to. If SL is configured as per recommended setup for alignment with the Holidays Act, the value is Outstanding - SL taken this year. If SL is configured to accrue pay-by-pay, the value is Outstanding + ( Total accrued - Total accrued taken ) |

Liability |
Nett outstanding ($):The value owed to the employee for previous sick leave periods. The calculation uses the unit balance of outstanding (in days or hours) multiplied by the rate or rule specified in the attached Sick Leave Table - Setup tab: Outstanding - Total accrued taken * Outstanding unit payout rate/rule value Nett accrued ($):The value owed to the employee for the current sick leave period. The calculation method is: Total accrued * Accrued unit payout rate/rule value Total ($):The nett liability, in dollars, the company is required to pay to the employee. The calculation method is: Nett outstanding ($) + Nett accrued ($) |
