Leave Request Settings

Summary

This entity is used with Self-Service and is visible when:

  • Self-Service is installed (any version)
  • You are licensed for Self-Service and the Self-Service module is enabled.

You must set up and attach Employee Leave Request Settings records to employees to enable them to apply for leave in Self-Service. Leave Request Settings control how Self-Service handles leave for employees.

An employee who does not have an Employee Leave Request Settings record will see the following error when they click the New Leave Request tab in Self-Service: "You cannot use self-service to apply for leave".

My Roster

If your company uses Self-Service My Roster, then this module also uses the Leave Request Settings records.

Self-Service displays information in My Roster relative to the leave unit source set up in the employee's Leave request settings record.

Note: You must ensure that employees know when they can accurately view their roster. Will the information that employees view in My Roster always be accurate or only within a specific time frame?

LOP

For leave to flow into Rosters/Actual pays (LOP) employees need to have their leave sourced from rostered hours so that timeband details, such as start and end time are known. Or set the source to be average profile hours for the employers who manage employee's leave within the confines of their contracted hours. Leave Request Setting records without these settings do not provide enough information for the LOP feature to work.
