Payroll | Leave Setup | Annual Leave Tables | Service tab
Summary |
The Service tab provides the ability to give employees additional annual leave entitlements after a defined number of years completed service without needing to change Annual leave tables. For example, an employee normally gets 4 weeks annual leave per year, but after having completed 6 years service, your organisation chooses to give employees 5 weeks leave per year from then on. When you close the pay that triggers the Annual leave anniversary for number of years' service, PayGlobal automatically recalculates their annual leave liabilities. |
Fields |
Years of service:The number of years' service that an employee must work for the organisation before they receive an increased entitlement. The years of service is based off the Employee's employment start date For example, if employees are entitled to additional annual leave when they begin their sixth year, then Years of service = 5.0. Once the years service is reached, PayGlobal uses the following field values instead of those with the same name located on the Setup tab. Accrual rate per pay period:This value represents the accrual rate needed to achieve the new Entitlement values. For example, employees who work 40 hours per week that get 5 weeks after 6 years service would have the following setup if the accrual method is Proportional and units accrued in hours:
Entitlement (weeks):The Services Entitlement (weeks) value is the total number of weeks employees are entitled to once they have completed the Years of service. As per the example in the summary the setting would be:
Entitlement (percentage of gross):The Entitlement (percentage of gross) value is the total percentage of gross that this table needs to calculate. As per the example in the summary the setting would be:
In AU percentage of gross is not normal used. In NZ percentage of gross is used in Termination payments and paying of casual/fixed term employees that get paid out their accrual each pay. Entitlement (units):The Entitlement (units) value is the total number of units an employee is expected to receive on their next anniversary, i.e. on completion of 6th year of service they should get this number of units. The value should reflect the type of units used as defined on the Setup tab, as per the example above if setup in hours and a week is 40hrs then the entitlement units should be 200 (40hrs x 5weeks) Bonus units accrued on x years:Under some employment contracts, employees are entitled to extra units of annual leave as a bulk payment or lump sum after they complete a certain number of years of service. These bonus units differ from the additional accrual process. For example, after employees complete five years of service, they are entitled to an extra week of annual leave, giving them a total of five weeks. OR bonus weeks on x years based on profile:Enabled when the Bonus units accrued on x years = 0.0. If the bonus entitlement is in Weeks, then type the number of weeks into this field. The annual leave table can only calculate the bonus entitlement correctly if the employee's Payments tab page contains their profiled hours. |
