Sick Leave Tables - Cycle

Payroll | Leave Setup | Sick Leave Tables | Cycle tab

Summary

The Cycle tab fields are enabled only when the Values tab | Accrual method = "Cycle" or "Y-Cycle Fixed". Cycle-type accrual methods allow you to do 'mini roll-overs' within the sick leave cycle.

For example:

  • During an employee's first 12 months, they have a proportional monthly sick leave entitlement of 2% of their hours worked. You can attach the employee to an annual "Cycle" sick leave table that gives them 12 'mini roll-overs' for 2% of their hours worked.
  • During an employee's first 12 months, they have a fixed monthly sick leave entitlement of 7.6 hours. You can attach the employee to an annual "Y-Cycle Fixed" sick leave table that gives them 12 'mini roll-overs' for 7.6 hours.

Fields
Cycle Type:

Cycle periods for the 'mini-rollovers' can be "Days" or "Months".

Cycle Length:

The number of days or months required to complete a 'mini-rollover' cycle and accrue the Outstanding/Entitled leave.

Cycle YTD Rate:

Use this field only if another cycle-method table is set up to roll over to this cycle-method table. During roll over, the Cycle YTD Rate value is used to calculate the employee's sick leave entitlement and this value is added to their total sick leave accrual.

Cycle YTD Maximum units accrued:

When another cycle-method table rolls over to this cycle-method table, the employee's calculated sick leave value cannot exceed the Cycle YTD Maximum units accrued value.

Cycle YTD Maximum type of units accrued:

Cycle periods can accrue in hours or days, but apply the maximum in a different unit type. If you leave this field blank, then PayGlobal will use the value in the Sick Leave table | Values tab | Type of unit field.
