Importing Data Into Actuals

Time & Attendance | Import Clock Data command

Summary

It is common for organisations to automatically capture start and finish times which can then be compared to the employee's rostered start and finish times. The alternatives are to:

  • Default Actuals based on the roster timebands and pay according to the roster
  • Amend the times based on manual timesheets.

Sourcing data

Data can be sourced from many areas:

  • Timeclocks/Swipe cards.
  • Dataline (telephone based data capture).
  • Magscan readers.
  • Finger Scanners.
  • Barcode Readers.
  • Proximity Readers.

What do data capture devices do?

Data capture devices create a data file containing necessary information for PayGlobal, such as:

  • Employee code.
  • Date.
  • Start time.
  • Finish time.

The above data is deemed compulsory. Other information may also be captured, such as:

  • Cost centre code.
  • Department code.

Importing Clock Data into PayGlobal

PayGlobal uses the following commands to import clock data:

Your PayGlobal Consultant should have set these actions up in Scheduler so that they will occur automatically each day.

If employees work late shifts, make sure that the scheduler timing is set to occur late enough to capture the last clock-outs.
