Editing Rosters

Daily View

Summary

You can use Daily View to change employee Rosters.

  • Add timebands.
  • Delete timebands.
  • Change an employee's start or end time.
  • Add shifts.

You usually change individual employee Rosters by adding or editing timebands in the Employee View Summary area. If you need to change multiple timebands in a day, you can also edit the Roster in the Drill Down area.

Add a timeband
  1. In Employee View Summary, click one of the employee's cells in the required day column.
  2. Press Insert to open the Roster: Inserting a Timeband form.

Note: If you press Enter or double-click the cell, then the Roster: Inserting a Shift form opens.

  3. Complete the Start timeEnd timeBreak (or Break amount), and other fields as required.

You can customise this form to include additional payroll and contract fields, such as Department. You could then leave the fields blank to accept the employee's defaults or enter values to override them. For more information, see Customise Forms in Daily View.

  4. Click OK to add this timeband to Employee View Summary.
  5. Press Ctrl+S or click the Save button.

Saving changes

When you edit Rosters, the following changes occur in Daily View:

  • The timeband cells are flagged with an asterisk (*) to indicate that they have changed.
  • The status bar at the bottom of the window displays:
    'Changed timeband cells: 1'.
  • In the main menu, the File | Save option is enabled.

After you press Ctrl+S or click the Save button:

  • The asterisks and status bar message disappear.
  • The Save option is disabled.

If you added a timeband, PayGlobal updates the employee's Rostering | Timeband Overrides tab. The new timeband has Frequency='0' to indicate that it applies to this day only.
