Company Settings - Misc

Administration | Modify Company Settings command | General | Settings | Misc tab page

Summary

Miscellaneous information relating to a company setup.

Fields
Company anniversary: day, month:

You can use the company anniversary to align all employee annual leave rollover dates to one date. For example, when your company closes down over Christmas and New Year.

If you enter a company anniversary date, when you attach an annual leave table to an employee (see Employees - Leave) and leave the End date field blank, the following message appears:

"Align annual leave to company anniversary?"

  • Yes - PayGlobal populates the End date field with the company anniversary date.
  • No - PayGlobal populates the End date field based on the employee's Start date (see Employees - Dates) and the annual leave table's Days in this AL cycle value (see Annual Leave Tables - Setup).

You can also define a company anniversary on the Annual Leave Tables - Company tab so you can align the annual leave rollover date to one date for all employee's attached to that table.

Important: The company anniversary on the Annual Leave Tables | Company tab overrides the company anniversary on the Company Settings - Misc tab.

Compulsory retirement age:

PayGlobal uses the Compulsory retirement age and the employee's Date of Birth to automatically calculate their Retirement date (see Employees - Dates).

Note: You can set up payroll rules that display a warning in the Process Pay audit log if an employee's Retirement date occurs in the current pay period or the next pay period.

Registration number:

Licence number of the registered company, if applicable.

Check files on login:

If you select "Yes", when you start PayGlobal, it automatically checks the validity of files against the structure of tables and fields in the data dictionary. We recommend setting this field to "Yes", although it will lengthen your PayGlobal start-up time.

Maximum virtual payslip taxable allowances:

Maximum number of taxable allowances on your payslips.

Post Code compulsory:

Yes/No field that determines whether Post code is a mandatory field in employee records.

Report Tracing Enabled:

Yes/No field that determines whether PayGlobal creates a debug log file when you run a report. The log file, called pgtrace.log, is created in the company data Log folder. This file contains information that report developers can use to debug reports.

Important: This field is set to "Yes" by default but we recommend setting it to "No".

Maximum Report Tracing lines:

If Report Tracing Enabled = "Yes", then you can specify the maximum number of lines in the pgtrace.log file. "0" means that the log file has no maximum limit.

Compulsory Birth Date:

Yes/No field that determines whether Date of birth a mandatory field in employee records.

E-mail field for autopopulate:

Specifies which e-mail address field PayGlobal uses to populate auto-complete e-mail fields:

  • Work e-mail
  • E-mail (personal e-mail address)
F4 search employees by last name:

Yes/No field that determines whether the F4 function searches by employee last name (Yes) or employee code (No).

Number of retries if scheduler lock fails:

Number of times that PayGlobal will retry if it is unable to lock the scheduler.

User eject wait time:

Used to be able to view the eject user options in Tables/User Status. By default this is set to 0 which will result in the eject user menus not being able to be viewed. Our recommended setting is 1 minute which means that PayGlobal will take 1 minute to eject each of the users selected.

If performance of ejecting users is compromised, we would recommend increasing the value in this field.

Print Queue User:

Yes/No field that determines whether PayGlobal displays (Yes) the Create PayGlobal Print Queue File fields or hides them (No).

We recommend setting this field to "No".
